Chalet Kitsune is designed to be a chalet, a luxury boutique hotel and a private residence all at once, mixing warm, sophisticated Swiss ‘cabane’ charm with auspicious Asian design and accents. It will be Niseko’s first private residence where owners and guests have the optional support of two live in staff to provide relaxed but efficient VIP service with food, cleaning, and driving.

Kitsune features a huge 5380ft2/500m2 of luxury living over 3 levels. It is the perfect property for a big extended family or couple of families, sleeping 14 but can accommodate as many as 24. The concept includes sink-into sofas in front of roaring open fires with a bar and games room in the timber panelled après ski lounge to please the grown-ups, while there are plenty of nooks and crannies for children to hide in with a dedicated games room, bunk room, and home cinema. The indulgent wellness spa allows skiers to sooth tired muscles with a Jacuzzi, sauna, rain canopy showers and private massage and beauty room. The double sized ensuite bedrooms will be the largest in Niseko.

Kitsune’s design concept opts for a low impact, environmentally sustainable development. The exteriors of an authentic, charming Japanese ski lodge will be been retained, and enhanced. Intimate new interiors will reveal warm, sophisticated Swiss ‘cabane’ charm with Asian accents. With selected antiques and bespoke furniture and artwork, Kitsune will be a celebration of organic materials – wood, stone, metal, bamboo, hide, eel skin, wool, shell, and rope.

The current property, Northfield Lodge, operates as a lodge with thirteen bedrooms - six ensuite - two saunas and spa bathrooms, a large dining and welcome area, commercial kitchen and lounge room. The plans for renovation can be remodelled to individual preferences.
